2 days trip to Kelowna

The family of Bear's brother came from HK to visit all of us. On the last weekend, we went for a 2-day and one-nite trip to Kelowna. Yes, the trip was really too short that we didn't have enough time to visit many places. But it was a precious moment for all of us (my parents-in-law, the family of Bear's sister, the family of Bear's brother and our family) to get together. We drove 2 mini vans to go for our trip.

During the long drive period (more than 4 hrs), BB behaved very well. I was really impressed. We stayed in the new Marriott Fairfield Hotel. It was a really nice hotel. The new facilities (each room has a large plasma TV, fridge, free internet service and a swimming pool with a 4-storey water slide) and the free breakfast were very good.

After checking in the hotel, we headed to the Summerhill Pyramid Winery http://www.summerhill.bc.ca/ In fact, bear and I had visited this winery long time ago, but this was the first time we joined the tour. After the tour, we knew more about how they planted the organic grapes and how they produced different kinds of wine with those organic grapes. And we had a chance to visit their special pyramid-designed storage.

On the 2nd day, we went to a cherry u-pick farm to pick some cherries. Even though it was the end of the harvest season of the cherry, we still got some sweet, fresh and big cherries home. BB also helped picking some cherries.

After visiting to the cherry farm, we went to a small lavender farm. There were many different kinds of lavender. The smell of lavender is very good. And we picked a big bundle of lavender home, too. And we also tried a lavender-jelly product (likes jam). The taste was good. We bought one home, too.

Since the trip was really short, we missed the beautiful city centre and the beautiful beach. We only had time to drive around that area.

This was our 2-day trip to Kelowna.

By the way, Kelowna was really really hot. All the 3 kids (from each family) were sick and had fever.
